"Martha Anne Whittemore was a teacher in the Maynard School system from 1957 until her retirement in 1989. She first taught at the Green Meadow School, but ultimately 'made her mark' as a coach in the Maynard High School Athletic Department. She was inducted into the Maynard High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009. Martha died peacefully at age 90 in Concord on August 10, 2024."
