Description
Raymond was born April 20, 1909, at 40 Parker Street in Maynard to John H. and Julia L. (Barry) Sheridan. He had two sisters, Margaret (b. 1906) and Dorothy (b. 1912). He married Mary N. Grigas in 1928. They had five children: Raymond Jr. (b. 1929), Ann (b. 1931), Nancy (b. 1942), Judy (b. 1944), and Thomas (b. 1948). They lived at 12 Hillside Street and moved in the early 1950s to 45 Old Marlboro Road, where he lived for the rest of his life. In his early life, he worked at the woolen mills, various construction jobs, and joined the Highway Department in the 1930s. He served as Superintendent of Streets from 1942 through 1951. He worked for the Army Corps of Engineers in the 1950s. In the 1960s, he worked for Whitman and Howard engineers. In the late 1960s through the mid 1970s, he worked at Sea Consultants Inc. He died September 29, 1981.
