Main Street and Masonic Block - 1969
This building was built by Lorenzo Maynard in 1888 and called the Maynard Block for many years. It was located at 100 Main St.
Darling's Block - ca1900
The building on the south west corner of Summer and Nason Street. The Darling's Block was built in the 1870's and later referred to the Eagle's Block. The top floor was destroyed by fire in 1955.

In 1991 the town was discussing regionalizing the High School with Acton. It was a very divisive issue requiring an out door venue as there was no indoor location able to hold the crowd. Maynard approved but later Acton voted the proposal down.

Chief of Maynard Fire Department
A member of the Maynard Fire Department for many years, he was appointed as the first permanent Official Fire Chief in 1968 and served until his retirement in 1984. Elected Selectman in 1986, attended but one meeting and died a few days later.
